We had booked our Inca trail with SAS travel two year ago but we have to cancel it due to Covid. They could not reimburse the whole part of the trip but they were kind enough to keep the deposit for the next five years until we could make it. And this is what we did and we did not regret it at all.
Jonathan at the office in Cusco was very helpful providing all the info that we needed before we start the trek. We were only 7 people at the trek which really made our experience very unique. We had the most attentive and professional guide one could ask, Rojo. He shared a lot of knowledge and information concerning the Inka sites but also the flora and the fauna along the rute. What was incredible about him is that he managed to create a very bonded team that was really caring and helpful to each other, as he called as a family!
A huge thank you to all the porters that carried all of our heavy things, luggage, tents, food etc and our chef Florentin who cooked the nicest meals for all of us. We could not have done it without any of them.

We did the 4d/3n Inca trail with SAS and everything was first class. Jonathan was so responsive and helpful right from my first enquiry and really went above and beyond in making it a stress free experience.
The trek itself was so well organised. Our guides Alexis and Edwin were very professional and knowledgeable. The food was really out of this world and the porters were fantastic. A unique experience that I couldn't recommend SAS highly enough for

Myself and my partner did the 8 day experience which included the sacred Valley Tour, Rainbow Mountain and 4 day Inca Trail. SAS were phenomenal throughout. Everything was taken care of, from being collected and driven to our destinations, tour guides, food etc. Everything was very well done and ran smoothly.

The original Rainbow Mountain is closed, so we went to Palccoyo which was just as beautiful. The 4 day Inca trail was amazing. You won’t be lacking on food quality or quantity. It was delicious. Our guide was Edwin, he was okay. We were a little quicker at hiking than our group so didn’t see him as much. Our last day we decided to hike straight to aguas Calientes with one of the porters, Elias. He was absolutely brilliant and he’s also training to be a guide himself. He will be brilliant at it. Extremely personable, kind and his English is very good. Elias was pretty much our guide on the Inca trail and I hope anyone who does the trail through SAS has him In their group.

Over all, everything was great and we really enjoyed our experience with SAS. Thank you all very much.

Through Lonely Planet we came across SAS-Travel. At the office at SAS in Cuzco we were welcomed by Jonathan who very professionally helped us with a tour to Machu Picchu. The entire tour was sublime! Pick up by SAS at our hotel, transportation to Peru Rail station. The bus ride from Cuzco to Ollantaytambo. The train ride to Aguas Calientes. There the guide of SAS (Roberto Molina) was waiting for us. The tour to Machu Picchu guided by Roberto who is a very passionate guide. He knows a lot about the history of the Incas and can also tell very interesting about it. The return journey also went very smoothly. We are full of praise. SAS Travel is definitely recommended.

A stress free adventure in Peru. They take care of all the details and keep you highly informed. Everyone from their drivers that pick you up at the airport to their guides and office staff are top notch. Their guide Danny had incredible knowledge and passion for the culture of Peru. He spoke excellent English as does most of their staff. Food was great on the 4 day Inca trail hike. Lot's of fresh fruit and vegetables along with amazing Peruvian cuisine that tasted like cooking from home. They also had excellent guides on the Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain excursions for which they provide meals and pick you up at your hotel. They put you up a the Hotel Marquises (an old Monastery building with exquisite architecture and charm) which is just a few steps from their office. This hotel had spacious rooms, Wifi and a nice breakfast included. All located in the central district all within walking distance to the great Cusco shopping, eating and museums. We took acetazolamide starting 24 hours prior to our arrival and avoided any mountain sickness. Street vendors have amazing deals on all the Alpaca clothing you desire. The local trout and Cuy were amazing. The Inca were the greatest empire of all the Pre-Columbian societies in the America's and well worth exploring.

Carlos and Yonatan were very helpful in helping me organise this trip! Did the sacred valley and trip up to Machu Picchu by train and bus with SAS Travel. Carlos worked at the store and helped me organise the full 2 day trip to leave on the next day. After the Sacred valley tour went to Aguas Caliente and stayed at the Viajero Hostal which was owned by Yonatan. The hostal was okay for a basic hostal to stay for one night and it was great that it was included in the price. Yonatan was helpful in showing me where to get the bus tickets and where to wait for the bus. Would recommend this tour company!

Great experience doing the Inca trail with SAS. The tour guide was a delightful guy who made the journey much more fun. The only negative thing I can think of is they go out of their way to provide you a glamping experience rather than a normal hike. This means you have quite a few porters who carry everything from food to tents, water, kitchen appliances and make you 3 course meal every meal. I feel for the porters as often they carry 25kg wait, leave after you and by the time you get to next stop they have already set up tent, clocked your meal etc. This makes you feel a bit ashamed for haven older gentlemen working this hard so you can live in comfort. For me, the hardship and challenges are part of the whole experience and I do hope those hard working amazing men get paid well for their hard work.
Other that that, I totally recommend SAS. They did not disappoint.

We booked multiple tours through SAS. All tours were well managed, pick up & drop offs well organized.
Only thing I would have looked into more is some tickets for attractions were not included & had to be purchased separately. Not sure if some other tour companies we looked into would have been on par cost wise with this taken into account.

We had an excellent 4day/3night Inka Trail experience with SAS Travel.

Our guide (Felipe) provided great knowledge on the historic Inka sites, was patient in explaining the route and great fun in the evenings. The food was restaurant quality - with three course meals for lunch and dinner!

It was nice to have a smaller group of hikers (eight) and was well worth the extra cost of hiring a porter for our luggage.

Highly recommend checking out SAS if you're looking to do the Inka Trail.

We booked with SAS for a 1 day Sacred Valley tour but got put into a different company's tour when they only had 4 people sign up.and had a really disappointing experience. We were running late at the end of the day (because the guide was late in picking us up from lunch, was late in leaving Ollaytaytambo because he was ignoring us and on his cell phone, and we had to circle back to Ollaytaytambo because he forgot that 3 people were supposed to catch the Machu Picchu train and leave the tour), and he basically tricked us into skipping Chinchero by asking us if we wanted to go to a view or the top.without mentioning that the view meant not actually entering the ruins at all.

Be aware of this company. The tour guide didn’t carry oxygen or medical kits. Also the tour guide didn’t have any walkie talkie on the trail. If there is any medical emergency, you are risking your own life. Stay away

Alexis was absolutely amazing! This was my favorite tour company, I traveled as a single young woman and felt so safe and well cared for. Everyone else on my tour was amazing and the whole thing was so organized. I did the sacred valley and Inca trail, upgraded the one hotel and felt like I got an amazing price for everything overall. Especially after seeing what other people have paid. The site is a little confusing but they are great with helping answer questions over email

Disappointed!
My husband and I spent two weeks in Peru and we had a great experience (Short Inca Trail) with SAS Travel Peru, but also a really bad experience (Colca Canyon) that made us hire other tour company for the rest of my tours.
At the beginning of the year I contacted SAS Travel Peru via email and Whats App and they never reply until I sent a strong email weeks later and communication was much better. I was in contact with Jonathan who was super helpful.
Our first tour with them was Full Day in Lake Titicaca and we got what we paid for; no complains.
Our second tour with them was Colca Canyon and we don't even got half what we paid for. SAS Travel hired other tour company for that tour and they did the tour totally different of what we paid for. We supposed to stop at different small towns and we didn't, we supposed to walk for 2 hrs to "enjoy the beautiful landscapes and nature of the valley" and we didn't, we didn't go to the thermal baths, the hotel that we stayed (was included in the tour) supposed to have folkloric show for dinner and there wasn't any. The tour guide wasn't following the schedule and time that we were told, there was some drama between the tour guide and some other tourist. Definitely not a good tour and off course the money that we paid it wasn't worthy. I complained with the tour guide, but he couldn't do that much because it wasn't a private tour and he didn't work for SAS travel.
I waited until we arrive to Cusco and I was more disappointed, the person that we talked to didn't know how to resolve the issue. I told him what happened and told me that he had to investigate, we came back the next day to the office and told me that the only think that he could do is discount us $25dls each when we paid almost 6 times that price. I told him that I would put a review and he tried to convince me not to do so, asking what I waned from them. At the end he told me that I would receive and email from them to resolve this matter in a better way, that he would contact his manager and would reach back to me. This happened two weeks ago and as right now I haven't heard from them.
I was planing to buy them 8 tours and at the end I only bough them 3 tours (only because I paid a deposit for them). They definitely lost business with us to be unprofessional.
Our last tour with them was the Short Inca Trail and had such a good tour with our tour guide Alexis.
I do not recommend this company, they do not have to resolve issues.

Note: If they contact me like they suppose to, I will update the review.

We booked through SAS to do the Lake Huamantay day trip. They were well organised to pick us up with breakfast and lunch included. Our guide, Christian, was awesome! He was funny, kind and supportive. He was very passionate about his culture and provide us with knowledge about this special place! Overall it was a great day with a fantastic guide!
