I loved every minute of this adventure. The porters were phenomenal, the guides exquisite. Each campsite was out of this world and the scenery along the way was breath taking. Each morning they would serve you hot coffee in your tent and each meal was basic but filling, I never was wanting for food the entire time. There are a lot of choices to go with but this company made you feel like family. If you ever have the chance, hike with this tour company, you will not regret it!

I loved everything about this trek. For starters, the chef made the most delicious meals. I was afraid of being hungry and needing more food (especially being vegetarian) but I was so impressed and never even ate the granola bars I packed. Next, the guides were BEYOND friendly & educated. And lastly, the porters worked harder than anyone.carrying the groups tents, food, bags.and most of them do this trek every week. It’s impressive but also kind of hard to imagine being paid so little to do this. Peru Treks says they pay them the country’s minimum. Which is unfortunately $15/day. So it’s important they get tipped by us. After talking to other trekkers and their guides. I found out that many other trek companies pay $20/day and that’s what many porters believe is fair.
So ultimately, I enjoyed Peru Treks.
But if there’s anything I can suggest.please pay these hardworking porters more than the country’s minimum wage. A lot of these porters leave there families for 4 days every week for minimum wage. It’d be nice to see a UK based company show they can be better than their competition by looking out for the welfare of their employees.

Amazing company with fantastic guides, Ronaldo and Jackson. Can't recommend them highly enough. The best 4 days I spent in South America was with these guys.

My husband and I did the 4 day Inka Trek this summer with Peru Treks and Adventures and we had a fantastic experience. They were very diligent with giving pre instructions and were available for all questions prior to the trek. The office was a little tricky to find (small sign) when we arrived to Cusco, however had no problems once we did! The people were wonderful from start to finish and the tour guides fantastic. You get a sense that the guides and porters truly enjoy the company. The food was the best we had in Peru along the trail, we were amazed at the chef and su chef! Each campsite was beautiful and the guides encouraged going at your own pace. We loved Peru Treks and Adventures!

ONLY USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU DON’T PLAN ON GETTING SICK OR INJURED.
We did the 4 day Inca Trail trek and have been stuck in Peru a week after we were supposed to leave. My husband has been in the ICU for a week due to the lack of knowledge and ignorance of the guides. We will be in the hospital for at least one more week as my husband recovers from life threatening pneumonia and dangerously low oxygen levels. My husband is young and fit, but the altitude affected him greatly. He showed sever signs of altitude sickness on the third day (blue lips, fever, diarrhea, coughing up copious amounts of blood, shallow and quick breathing, nausea, fatigue). He was still forced to walk 16 kilometers with no other options. I asked if there was any way to help him the morning of the last day and the guide said no. He had to keep hiking. The guides’ only concern was seeing Machu Picchu. We communicated with them that we didn’t care about Machu Picchu since my husband’s health was so bad. They didn’t care. They led us to believe my husband’s condition was not serious and we trusted they knew more about this than we did since they trek all the time and the altitude is very high.
They have no idea what they are doing. They just want to make money and take you to see the sights at any cost. They have no medical training and no knowledge of when to take action. I found out later after emailing with the company that my husband should have been taken down the mountain on a stretcher if he was showing the above signs and conditions. This was an option that was never presented to us.
The manager “investigated” the situation and spoke with the guides who of course said they did nothing wrong. The company has been making excuses and blaming the situation on us. They will not give us a refund or accept the fact that their company almost cost my husband his life. Be careful who you trust with yourself and your family. I would hate for anyone else to experience this nightmare that has become our reality.

We highly recommend Peru Treks for the classic Inca Trail trek. Our expectations were high and they exceeded them at every level. Our guide Ronald was extremely knowledgeable, energetic and very entertaining. He and our assistant guide Jimmy did an amazing job managing problems along the way (i.e. Bad weather, injuries, illness, etc.) We always felt well cared for. Benedicto, our chef, delivered amazing meals no matter what the conditions and the porters were like sure-footed supermen. Our experience could not have been better!

My friend and I who booked our trip with Peru Treks cannot say enough positive things about our experience! They were truly amazing in every way, shape, and form. Form the food (amazing) to the camaraderie, Peru Treks made us memories of a lifetime. Our main guides, Manny and Edwin were so much fun, made everyone laugh, and were supportive during the hard parts of the hike. The porters and chef were the secret heroes of the trip. For the service, you cannot beat Peru Treks, I would recommend my closest family and friends. Absolutely outstanding!

Peru Treks is a wonderful company. The service we were given was outstanding! We saw breathtaking views, ate amazing meals, and learned so much history. Our guide Ronald was fantastic. He has so much pride for his people and made sure our experience on the Inca Trail was everything we hoped it would be. When I went to thank him on our last day I just burst into tears. I'm so grateful for him, our assistant guide Jackson, and the incredibly hard working porters. They took amazing care of everyone and made sure we all ended each day safe and happy. One person in our group had an upset stomach so they brewed him a special tea. Another older lady was afraid of walking in the dark on the last day so Jackson linked arms with her and slowly and patiently guided the way. It's the little things that show they truly care. Our group of people were all different ages from all over the world, whom I'm now happy to call my friends. Macchu Picchu and the surrounding Inca ruins are so sacred and powerful. This experience will hold such a special place in my heart.

Great tour, terrible customer service. There is so little separating the machu pichu trekking companies so go with someone else. Use every trick to milk more money, aren't helpful with help on sourcing hiking equipment, don't take cards to pay the 1000s of dollars in fees and with daily withdrawal limits it is a problem for travellers

My husband and I just finished the Inca Trail with Peru Treks. We HIGHLY recommend them! Our experience was top notch, 5 star trekking. Our guides, Saul and Marco, did an incredible job explaining information, answering questions, and going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The food was the best we have had in South America, truly amazing with multiple courses and large portions, absolutely delicious! Our team of porters were rockstars and always had a smile on their face. This company made the most difficult trek I've done feel like a "luxury" vacation!

Booked Peru Treks based on reviews, and here I am trying to keep that good karma going. They were nothing but nice and responsive from the beginning, and when we got there, so fun and professional. The food made for us on the trail was great and they provided everything you could possibly need.

I ended up getting terribly ill on the second day, and one of the guides, Jackson, took me back down to the town. He got me a hotel which he also stayed at until the next day, took me to the train station to get a ticket to meet up with the group at Machu Picchu, arranged for someone to pick me up at the train station in Aguas Calientes and take me to the hotel he booked for me, met me in Aguas Calientes the next morning and took me to Machu Picchu to rejoin the group.

He could have simply dropped me off in the town and let me figure my way around or miss everything else, but he went above and beyond to make the trip as fantastic and easy as possible despite the setback. I cannot say enough great things about this company. The trail is beautiful and they make sure you have the opportunity to enjoy the best parts of it. Book with them and you won't be disappointed.

I recently returned from Peru and an adventure with Peru Treks. As others have mentioned, food and experience were simply amazing. What I would share, was my experience with not being able to complete the hike. My hiking partner became quite ill and it was necessary to hike back down, in the middle of day two. I felt completely supported by the staff, both porters and guides in making this happen and also ensuring we had a place to stay and tickets to Machu Picchu by train. We had our rooms booked for us, a guide stayed with us and traveled with us, eventually having us meet up with the rest of the group on the final day. Although we did not complete as planned, we still were able to get to Machu Picchu, an experience I will never forget. When you start the hike, the guides speak of being family. Well, you are and I have family in Peru now. So, if you need a company, this is the one to go with, you’ll be completely happy with the team!

I cannot recommend these guys enough. Pepe and Nilton, our tour guides, made us feel at home. They were excellent compliments to each other. The cook Milton and sous chef Nicono made meals so delicious I have no idea how they did it while carryinf everything in on their backs. And Mario and the Porters, absolute beasts. Truly impressive men. I cannot speak highly enough of Peru Treks. Everything was exactly as they said it would be, there were 0 bad surprises, it was excellent all around. Best experience of my life.

Just got back from Machu Picchu on 5/13/2018. We had top notch services throughout our 4 day hike. Great food, porters were amazing and our guides (Manuel and Jorge) were very knowledgeable. If you are planning to hike the Inca Trail, I highly recommend Peru Treks. You won't be disappointed!

While there are a lot of companies to choose from, Peru treks excels in every way. Their website is full of useful information, their staff are available to answer any questions you have before you book, and the booking process is fast and simple. Before you leave you're given even more information on what to expect, but the experience will exceed your expectations. The organization, and execution of the trek leaves no detail unattended. From multiple course meals with local flare, coca tea wakeup service, and friendly and knowledge guides Peru treks will make your experience unbelievable. They even made me a birthday cake (icing and all) while on the trek!

I choosed this company because they treat their porters well. It was such a great experience on the trail with this company. I'd never expected a service like this.
Huge thank you to the porters. The chef is awesome, he made very delicious food. And last but not least the guides are great too.

A great experience. Our guides Edy and Nilton were incredibly warm and lively personalities. They encouraged everyone, made us laugh, and touched on the personal side of the Quechua culture. The chasquis are some of the most hard-working people I've witnessed too: the camps were amazingly comfortable considering the remoteness. A heart-warming trip and won't be forgotten soon. Peru Treks is a professional and reliable business.

My wife and I hiked the Inca Trail with Peru Treks and Adventures and had a wonderful experience. We picked Peru Treks because they have a good reputation for treating their porters (or "chaskis") well, and it seemed as though they lived up to it. The guides (Edy and Nilton) were fantastic, supportive and informative. The food was delicious. The tents were very comfortable and everyone made sure you had everything you need. Hiking the Inca Trail is challenging and rewarding, and you really want to make sure you're in good hands. With Peru Treks you definitely are.

We did the Inca trail trek in 2014 and we couldn't be more satisfied with the quality of the tour provided by Peru Trek. The company and their guides (Freddie) were very friendly and knowledgeable. The company was also sensitive to how they treated their chaskies (porters). They provided delicious meals, including catering for a vegetarian and gluten free diet.

The trek itself was an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity that finished at the fabled Machu Picchu.
