Caminata a Salkantay: Anthony, el guía turístico, era una leyenda, pero la compañía estaba bastante desorganizada y tenía exceso de reservas, lo que significaba que tuvimos que meter a 4 muchachos grandes en un cobertizo la primera noche y siempre teníamos que esperar por la comida. Sigue siendo una experiencia increíble y tuve un grupo encantador, pero podría haber sido mejor. Obtén lo que pagas, supongo, porque este era mucho más barato que los demás.

Recientemente hicimos la caminata Salkantay de 4 días y 3 noches con reservas a Machu Picchu y tuvimos una gran experiencia. La caminata en sí fue difícil en algunas partes (¡¡no subestimes la altitud como lo hicimos nosotros como 20/30 y tantos saludables!), pero nuestro increíble guía Edison la hizo mucho más fácil. Nos apoyó durante todo el recorrido y se aseguró de que todos pudieran terminar con la mejor experiencia posible. El alojamiento y la comida eran buenos (no esperes un alojamiento de 5 estrellas, ¡estás en las montañas!), y realmente apreciamos que Edison atendiera nuestra solicitud de visitar las aguas termales el tercer día y se reuniera con nuestro grupo más tarde. Por lo que recibimos, creo que tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio y no dudaría en recomendar Reservas Machu Picchu para su caminata.

Una cosa a tener en cuenta: si reservas una montaña adicional en Machu Picchu, ¡asegúrate de poder escalar la montaña cuando hagas el recorrido por el sitio! Algunos miembros de nuestro grupo tuvieron un problema porque la montaña tenía horarios de apertura específicos (el día que visitamos, la montaña Machu Picchu cerró a las 9 am), así que pregúntele a su guía para averiguarlo cuando llegue al sitio.

Nos unimos al grupo de caminata de 4 a 5 días de Salkantay durante los primeros dos días (día 1 al lago Humantay y día 2 al paso de Salkantay), pero nos separamos de ellos en el paso para regresar a Cusco en lugar de continuar. Fue muy divertido ser parte del gran grupo. Los guías turísticos fueron increíbles (Tony y Edison) y la comida era decente (buenas opciones para ser vegetariano). Las cabañas en las que nos alojamos eran bastante espaciosas y aisladas. Recomendaría traer su propia almohada si tiene una inflable.

Definitivamente recomendaría esta agencia para la caminata salkantay. Vimos otras empresas en el camino que sabíamos que eran más caras y no parecía que obtuvieran más valor que nosotros.

Mi esposo y yo tuvimos una experiencia única en la vida en el Salkantay Trek con Reservas Machu Picchu. Hicimos el tour de 5 días/4 noches con nuestro guía Abel.

Abel hizo que toda la experiencia fuera increíble y fue la mejor guía que pudimos haber pedido. Estaba bien informado y compartió información importante con nosotros durante toda la caminata. ¡También se aseguró de que todos se lo pasaran genial! Siempre estuvo ahí si necesitábamos algo. Todo el personal fue extremadamente amable e hizo todo lo posible por los excursionistas.

¡Volvería a hacer la caminata si pudiera! Sólo un consejo para otros excursionistas. Tenga cuidado con las moscas de arena y los mosquitos en las aguas termales y en Aguas Calientes. Asegúrate de usar pantalones largos y llevar mucho repelente.

En general, esta caminata es verdaderamente una experiencia inolvidable. ¡Nos hicimos amigos de por vida con nuestro guía y otros excursionistas de todo el mundo!

Nuestro viaje con reservas a Machu Pichu fue fenomenal. Hicimos el Salkantay de 5 días y 4 noches, y fue maravilloso en gran parte para nuestro guía Frank. Frank estaba bien informado y tenía una personalidad encantadora. Recomendaría ampliamente esta empresa.

Tuve el increíble privilegio de tener a Juan como nuestro guía turístico en la caminata de Salcantay a Machu Picchu, y no puedo decir lo suficiente sobre sus cualidades excepcionales. Desde el principio, la autenticidad de Juan brilló. No era sólo un guía; era un verdadero local con una profunda conexión con la tierra y su historia.

La motivación de Juan era contagiosa. Su pasión por la caminata y la cultura andina era palpable y mantuvo a nuestro grupo con energía y determinación incluso durante las partes más desafiantes del viaje. Nos animó a superar nuestros límites y abrazar la aventura.

Pero lo que realmente distinguió a Juan fue su riqueza de conocimientos. Sin esfuerzo, tejió historia, geografía e historias locales en nuestra caminata, haciendo de cada paso una lección. Sus conocimientos sobre la antigua civilización Inca y la importancia de los sitios que visitamos agregaron una profundidad inconmensurable a nuestra experiencia.

En resumen, Juan hizo de nuestra caminata al Salcantay un viaje inolvidable. Su autenticidad, motivación y conocimiento convirtieron una aventura desafiante en una experiencia que le cambió la vida. No podríamos haber pedido un mejor guía y estamos inmensamente agradecidos por su guía y amistad a lo largo del camino. Juan, eres una verdadera joya y no podemos agradecerte lo suficiente.

Esta empresa no responde a los correos electrónicos. Me comuniqué dos veces para solicitar un reembolso y aún ni siquiera han respondido. En este punto, ni siquiera se trata del reembolso, se trata del servicio básico al cliente. Recomiendo encarecidamente mantenerse alejado de esta empresa. Hay decenas de empresas de turismo en Cusco, este lugar no vale la pena.

Llegamos antes de las 7 am a la oficina y 3 empleados diferentes estaban confundidos sobre quién estaba en las listas de reserva. No estábamos en ninguna lista. Un empleado tomó a un grupo de personas y nos dejó con una empleada durante unos minutos. Regresó y nos dijo que lo acompañáramos a otro grupo de gira. Nos dijo que irían hasta el segundo autobús pero que no había asientos. Dijo que serían unas 5 cuadras, así que acordamos subirnos al autobús. Terminamos parados durante 20 minutos después de conducir varios kilómetros. Al principio nos ofreció un taxi, pero como dijo que solo serían un par de minutos, le dijimos que podíamos esperar. Después de 20 minutos, nos dejaron al costado de la carretera con un grupo de turistas españoles. Pagamos una gira en inglés. La guía turística hizo todo lo posible por traducir, pero era obvio que éramos una ocurrencia tardía. Ella hablaba durante 15 a 20 minutos y nos traducía en menos de 5 minutos después de decirle al resto del grupo que fueran a tomar fotografías. Después de traducirnos, pasaríamos inmediatamente a la siguiente parada. Debido a que mi pareja se sentía mal y estábamos molestos por las razones mencionadas anteriormente, pagamos un taxi de regreso a Cusco después de la segunda parada.

I booked the 2D/1N Inca Trail to Machu Picchu through Machu Picchu Reservations and I had an absolutely amazing time! I chose the 2 day tour over the 4 day tour due to the relatively short time I had in Peru and I found it to be perfect for me. The hike was amazing, challenging, and so rewarding. It immerses you in beautiful nature and endless Inca remains up to the point that you reach Machu Picchu. Nemias, my tour guide, was the BEST part of the tour. He was super knowledgeable, enthusiastic, organized and friendly. He knows the best spots for photos along the trail and takes the best photos! I would say the Inca trail is a must do on your visit to Peru, and if you book it, ask for Nemias.

We did the 2 day sacred valley/macchu picchu tour by train and bus. The arrangements were immaculate. Folks were there to receive us at the train and bus station. Guides (Aurelio and Carlos were fantastic) when the train ran late the driver who was taking us back to cusco waited for us. Guides were knowledgeable. We got tickets for the next day at the tourism office in aguas calientes. Highly recommend.

Machu Picchu Reservations is the best option if you want a personalized tour of the Inca citadel. Their tour guides are really nice and well-informed, and they'll modify the itinerary to fit your specific interests.

We joined the Salkanty tour for 5 days and the trek was amazing. The whole team was really professional including the horse driver, chefs and also our fabulous tour guide Edgar. Food was really nice throughout our trip and our tour guide was able to address our various concerns.
We sincerely recommend Machu Picchu Reservations to all travelers coming to explore Machu Picchu - I have no doubt that you won't regret it:)

We did the 5D4N Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu. Everything is so nice, from the scenery, food to the accommodation. And need to give a big thumb up to our tour guide - Edgar, very experienced, everything is arranged and everyone is taken care so properly by him. Also, he will tell us different history and story about Inca! Last but not least, I left my ebook in the hostel, and he still help to tackle the problem after the tour! Edgar is the best! And the arrangement from this company is really reliable, highly recommend to join tour with them in Cusco

Had a brilliant time with Machu Picchu reservations on the 4 day Salkantay trek. Zugar was a really great guide - very knowledge about everything we wanted to know, super friendly with everyone in the group and managed the whole 4 days perfectly. The food throughout was really good too so compliments to the chefs and supporting staff. Highly recommend

First of all, we loved the hike to Salkantay even though it is very difficult due to the altitude. Secondly, we enjoyed the accommodations during the hike and the food cooked by Dennis was incredible, different every meal, and better than the food in the restaurants. But it's important to highlight our guide, the customer service, and the reason why you should take a guided tour aside from the great information that our guide Oscar shared with us. Currently there are political issues affecting many tour options in Perú and most agencies won't even go anywhere but Machu Picchu Reservations made sure that we got to see Salkantay and Machu Picchu. On the night before the trek they told us that we needed to leave early because a blockade ws planned on the highway the next day so the agency put us up in a hotel closer to Salkantay for an extra night so that we could get to our trek. The rest of the tour went smoothly until we needed to get to Aguas Calientes from the Hidroeléctrica. The train was not working and we needed to hike for 10km along the track. Our guide Oscar made it fun and even took us to a hidden location along the tracks that had important ruins that most tourists don't see while also pointing out various wildlife and vegetation. In Aguas Calientes our guide Oscar was on the phone, talking to police, other guides, and locals about the current situation and trying to find a way to get us back to Cusco. After leaving Macchu Picchu he heard that we had about an hour before the train to Ollaytantambo was going to leave, this same train had not left in 3 days and there were many people there waiting to get on the train. It was chaos, the lines for foreigners, nationals, people with tickets, people without tickets, families, etc.kept changing and no one knew where to go. We don't know what Oscar did but he got all of his guests through the security to get tickets to get on the train. Only he and another gudie from another company managed to do that while everyone else who didn't have a guide just stood there helpless not knowing what to do and they sadly did not get on the train. Not only did Oscar make the tour fun and informative but he also fought for us to get on that train to get home and was constantly finding ways to make sure that the tour continued in spite of the political issues happening in the region. We loved the tour but could not get over how lucky we were to have Oscar as our guide at a time like this. HELL YEAH OSCAR!

We had an awesome time on the Salkantay trek. Our group was amazing but equally our guide Aurelio took the experience to the next level.
Our trek was at a difficult time with strikes and train services not running, from the beginning Aurelio gave us a sense of comfort assuring us he would take care of any issues that came up… and he did.
Aurelio’s commitment to ensuring everyone was safe and enjoying themselves was admirable. On the trip I broke my sunglasses and Aurelio went and got me super glue to fix them, this is only one example of his commitment to ensuring everyone has what they need during the trek.

Each day the food was amazing and plentiful, the Chefs catered for a variety of dietary needs and always ensured everyone was full. They also introduced us to a variety of traditional drinks each meal.

There were some changes to the plan for our trek due to the protests and Aurelio ensured we were kept up to date with information and consistently reminded us to enjoy the experience and let him worry about the logistics.

I would defiantly recommend booking with Machu Picchu Reservations and waiting until Aurelio is going to be the guide, you won’t regret it.

Horrible customer service. I booked a Machu Picchu tour with them. They said it will be a private van for transportation, but they gave a collectivo. For the return, the collectivo bus was in such a bad shape that it stopped working 3 times on the way in the dark. We literally had to use our mobile phone torch just to make sure other vehicles don't crash into us. We told the driver that it is risky but he ignored. I tried reaching to MachuPicchuReservations to help arrange another vehicle because the vehicle we had was dangerous, they first said they are trying and then they said "you are just 2 hours away, so stay in your vehicle". Do you think accidents don't happen in a 2 hour drive? It was the most irresponsible response I have ever had!
